Through an illuminated entrance gate guarded by knights, you enter a city ruled by legend. The Brno dragon — Moravia's most famous tale — blazes to life as a monumental light sculpture, joined by the margrave's seal and the illuminated tower in telling of medieval Brno, its walls and its heroes.

Standard — ages 15 to 65
Reduced — children 3–14, seniors 65+, ZTP/P disability card holders (carer free)
Family 2+2 — 2 adults + 2 children (or 1 adult + 3 children)
Family 2+3 — 2 adults + 3 children

• Tickets are cheaper online than at the box office.
• Reduced / ZTP / ZTP/P tickets require photo ID confirming the discount.
• Tickets can be bought online, or with cash or card at the box office.
• Employee benefit cards are not accepted.
• Each ticket is valid for a single entry; re-entry is not permitted.
• There is no time limit on your visit within opening hours.
The site is not step-free. Špilberk is an original medieval castle with flights of steps to negotiate — it is therefore unsuitable for wheelchairs and prams.
From Česká, trolleybus 35 or 39 or bus x4 to the Tvrdého stop; from the main railway station, tram 5 or 12 to Šilingrovo náměstí.
Yes — dogs are welcome, on a lead and muzzled.
A bistro, the castle restaurant and stands serving drinks and hot dogs.
